About Me

Denver, Colorado
Its about time I update my blog. I'm the type of person who insists on havng a good time. Almost to a fault. I enjoy quiet time with my husband and would really like a dog but realize we dont have time to take care of one. We love adventures. I love the thought of being finshed with a great big hike or bike or run. That feeling of accomplishment - of seeing a new place or the view from the top of one of the highest mountains in the state. I hate the thought of that first step or peddle. I love my husband and our families. I am so blessed. I'm terrified of losing my parents someday. My circle of friends grows larger and stronger every day and I cant fathom how lucky I am in this life.

pub crawl

have you ever gone on a real pub crawl? one where the organizer passes out itineraries at the beginning of the evening with 7ish bars listed within a few square blocks each with an ets at each 55 minutes or so? and if you're not ready to go by 7:25, 8:25, or 9:25 you get left? this was my first and even though wade and i only made it to the first two bars we had such a great time and met some wonderful people.

and sometimes there is nothing more fun than a lemon drop with your girlfriends!

more trims.

I think I like this one - it's new and I'm not sure if it's just cuz it's all over but I like it a lot. I think it might be a keeper. I sort of feel like it's too fancy for me though. Does it seem too fancy?

what do you think?

Okay now I need some help and opinions (for anyone that really gives a rip). I wasn't going to have anything added on to my dress. But my mom sent me these photos of some - what do you call it - accent/rope/lacy/beady/thingys - to dress up my dress. And I think I like them and want to keep them. For reference the dress is a heavy satin polyester and is quite dark as wedding material goes (it's about the color of my wintery pale skin). So HOPEFULLY when the wedding comes around next Sept I will have a little more color and the dress will actually be lighther than my skin tone.

Okay so at first glance I like the darker(longer) strand of lacy accent thing going around the halter. But, I sort of like the second photo - this is a shot of the waist. She was thinking of lining the boobs, neckline, and waist. What are your thoughts? Which accent thingy do you like better? Or would NO dressy uppy accent lacy beady ropy thing be best?

new friends and green beer

I love meeting new, fun, intelligent, and active people! Bridget is the type of person who is always doing something fun and exciting. We met her through an old coworker of mine and went out for $2 beer pitchers one evening last month (my kind of girl). Since then she's introduced us to a whole new group of friends including her twin sister and big brother (Bridget is on the right). We are going to run a couple of fun road races this year and spend a ski weekend in the mountains the weekend after next. We went out for St. Patrick's Day with them last weekend and I immediately felt like a kid again. The sun shine was intense, the temperature was perfect, and the green beer flowed on. We had such a fun time and I love having new people in my life!!! Thanks friends!

Proud Grandpa

Okay this post is solely to brag about how flipping adorable my niece is and how loveable my dad is. I miss these guys sooooo much. If I ever move home it is so that I can be the one behind the camera, or the one sitting on my dad's lap in my bibs, or the one holding Willa Rose. Big hugs to all of you guys. Love you!

home alone!

Wade left for Minnesota on a work trip yesterday. Neither of us leaves very often without the other so whenever he does I get sad and think about how much I will miss him and then realize that as hard as I try not to, I take so much of our time together for granted.

But then when I remember what it's like to be on my own (for a couple days), I also remember how much I love my "me" time. When Wade is gone, I do things that I don't normally take the time out of my work and school schedule to do.

Things I do when Wade is gone include:
- a bubble bath with my cat leif (he sits on the edge of the tub and plays with the bubbles)
- bring the antena upstairs to the bedroom and leave the television on all night
- go to bed at 8 with a glass of wine and my laptop
- watch chick flicks
- skip the gym and veg on the couch
- call my mom
- and of course leave my phone under my pillow and wait for his good night call!

can you put your salad down for a moment and take my photo?

So, my mom is making my wedding dress. What a wonderful, talented, selfless woman. I know she wasn't excited when I asked her to do it. But she said yes. I know she is worried I will dislike some part of it, but she said yes anyway. I love her. And by the way mom, I will love every seam.

Anyway, she sent the top of what she has done so far... this is it!! I'm attempting to ask wade to take a photo or two for her to see how it fits and how to proceed and this is what turned out. So far so good!!! Nice work mum! (And thanks for setting your dinner down for a sec to take the photo wade!)

Planning the wedding so far has been much less stressful than some make it seem. Maybe it's because we are going to Mexico and it's pretty hard to be stressed out in Mexico. Maybe it's because those that are most important in my world are coming to celebrate with us and that comforts me. I'm not sure - maybe it will get crazy. I'm just excited and I know for sure that I must be one of the luckiest girls in the world to be marrying such a perfect man.
