We took a little trip out to California after the wedding and then drove to Las Vegas before flying back home to denver for a quiet weekend before going back to work.
First we drove to Hollywood. We stayed at the CUTEST little hotel called the Farmer's Daughter which was right in the middle of 
everything. It was so cozy, the staff were great, and the decor was awesome!

Nicely placed sofas and bottles of wine were spread about the property which made us just want to hang out with each other at the hotel the whole trip! If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend this hotel for a place to stay. We were located across the street from CBS Studio and the Farmer's Market - and within 10 minutes of Hollywood Blvd/Highland Avenue which was where we saw Jimmy Kimmel Live and had some of the greatest sushi at a

We spent one morning at Universal Studios which was a ton of fun and a limited number of people allowed us to go on every ride in less 
than an hour.
than an hour.We so wanted to cancel our trip to Vegas so we could stay in Hollywood but instead ate breakfast at the cute restaurant "Tart" in the hotel and reluctantly hit the road. Oh we had such a blast! I have to admit - this is the first trip to LA in which we haven't gone to the ocean!
We got to Las Vegas within 4 hours from leaving LA. We got there and checked into our hotel (New York New York) which was nice. It was really hot and we were pretty tired so we got a drink and dinner and went back to the room for a nap. When we got to the room we found the most wonderful surprise. 
Our friend Mike had a bottle of champagne on ice accompanied by chocolates and fun stuff. It was so fun so we hung out watching tele and drinking our gift!
The rest of our trip in Vegas was a blast. This was my first trip there and I have to say that I imagined it being a place I would be happy to see but not being a gambler, probably wouldn't be inclined to go back. Boy was I wrong. We had sooooooo much fun hanging out at the small casinos, playing video blackjack just long 
enough to get our fill of cocktails. We went downtown and had an 11$ surf n turf dinner, learned how to bet on horses and WIN... and then lose,
we walked around like all the rest of the Mid-Westerners on vacation drinking beer in the street and partying day and night. I want to go back to Vegas soon. The next time we do we will stay away from the large hotels and find a cute one a block or two off the strip or maybe downtown.

But the weekend proved to provide MUCH needed rest before heading back to reality.
Oh how I love vacation with my husband. He's the best person to spend days off with. I'm so lucky.
